About

Michael Julius and I (Hannah Pierce-Carlson) met online through flickr, an online photography social network. I was teaching in China and he was/is a paramedic in a rural county in North Florida. We liked each others photos and our respective worlds. We courted on the internet for a few months and concluded that we needed to live and work and be a nice picture taking couple together.

That is that, but this is more. This is an idea about how to see close… and to express ourselves, reasonably, in a web-mediated way. And that’s all really.

What challenges us is telling stories using a medium that is inclined to distract, the web. Oddly, as the web’s complexity and usability matures, so too does its potential to do something that is plain and human, to tell stories, plainly and with voice.
